CARRIER INITIATIVES
Carriers recognize the environmental issues facing our planet. Lakeside is actively developing programs and working with our carriers to quantify and reduce CO2 and NOx emissions. An added benefit – we can demonstrate how emission reductions can reduce costs. More details... |

A SmartWay Transport Partner since 2007, we are aggressively targeting our carrier partners to commit to this program. Today, 49 of our carriers are SmartWay partners hauling 33% of our miles, surpassing our previous three year goal of 30% of miles by 2010. Our new goal is 50% of miles by end of 2010. To reduce their carbon footprint, Lakeside offers customers the option of using SmartWay carriers for some or all of their transportation needs. More details…

THE GREEN TEAM
The Team is made up of a representative from each department in the Lakeside organization. With the mandate to decrease our carbon footprint, the group is continually looking for ways to improve the environmental impact of the company. |

All new employees, plus those returning from leave, take part in comprehensive training about Vision Green. Training includes the history, objectives and goals of the program, the principle of a carbon footprint and the concept of Carbon Neutral. Each staff member receives regular updates through email, quarterly meetings and a bulletin board filled with changing information. |
